Joshua S. Foutz

Joshua S. Foutz is an experienced litigator and trial lawyer practicing civil and commercial litigation. Joshua represents clients in various business disputes and transactions, providing practical and efficient solutions to individuals and companies so they can focus on core business functions. Joshua’s practice also includes casualty defense litigation. With significant experience representing individuals, insurers, small businesses, and large retail establishments in personal injury and property damage cases, Joshua has developed a foundation of skills making him an effective advocate both in and out of the courtroom. Prior to joining Bajo Cohen Agliano, P.A., Joshua worked for a prestigious civil defense firm where he handled various matters involving automobile/trucking negligence, premises liability, construction defects, professional liability, and products liability.

Joshua attended Florida State University College of Law, earning a Juris Doctor and a Certificate in Business Law with Honors. As part of the Law School’s Business Law concentration program, Joshua excelled in the business law curriculum and was selected for a summer externship with the International Speedway Corporation (acquired by NASCAR) where he gained invaluable experience working in the Company’s legal department on various core business and legal matters. Joshua finished his last semester at Florida State while also working for the Florida Office of Financial Regulation, Division of Securities, as a law clerk assisting with various issues arising under the Florida Securities and Investor Protection Act.

After graduating from law school, Joshua accepted a position at the Florida Office of Financial Regulation as Assistant General Counsel to the Securities Division where he focused on broker-dealer and investment advisor regulatory compliance and enforcement. Thereafter, Joshua served as an Assistant State Attorney for the Sixth Judicial Circuit for Pinellas County, representing the People of the State of Florida through all phases of felony and misdemeanor litigation, trying numerous cases to verdict. Joshua was assigned to the domestic violence division, the North Pinellas criminal traffic division, assigned lead trial attorney, and then promoted to the felony division. The skills and experience Joshua gained at the State Attorney’s Office have been invaluable to his development as a litigator and they continue to be the foundation of his effective and aggressive representation.

Joshua graduated magna cum laude from the University of Central Florida, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics with a minor in Legal Studies. During his senior year at the University of Central Florida, Joshua was selected for a highly competitive CWEP Student position at Lockheed Martin where he worked as a financial analyst in the cost management division gaining hands-on experience with various financial cost management models for budget analysis and efficient program completion. Joshua received various academic awards at the University of Central Florida and was the Vice President and an active player for the University’s Men’s Lacrosse Team.

Joshua was admitted to practice law in Florida in 2016 and is an active member of the Florida Bar. He is a Director of the Lewis Williams Education Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that develops, promotes, and implements programs and activities that foster educational growth and confidence amongst students. Joshua loves spending time with his family, working outdoors, playing various sports, and traveling.
